Alex Butler

Alex is a solicitor within the Family department, working on cases across the breadth of private family law.

Work and Clients

Alex deals with all aspects of private family law, including divorce, financial remedy, child arrangements, protective injunctions and cohabitation disputes. He is committed to providing pragmatic, easily understood advice to his clients and achieving positive outcomes.

Alex is a member of Resolution, a national organisation of family lawyers committed to non-confrontational divorce, separation and other family issues.

Route to Slade Legal

Alex obtained his bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Nottingham in 2019. He completed the Bar Professional Training Course and his master’s degree in 2020 and was called to the Bar in 2021.

Alex qualified as a solicitor in 2024 and worked in the Private Family department of a Legal 500 firm before joining Slade Legal in September 2026. Prior to qualifying, Alex worked at a public family law firm, dealing with care proceedings brought by social services.
